The Metro

The Hotel Metro is a 193-unit complex constructed in 1989. The complex consists of two four-story buildings of concrete and block construction. The buildings are located across the street from one another in San Diego’s Center City East neighborhood. Each building is equipped with sprinklers, elevators, security cameras, common areas, and common bathrooms. The larger of the two buildings contains 136 SRO units, a large common area on the ground floor, along with a laundry room and central atrium. The smaller building includes 57 SRO units.

The Metro provides housing to low-income and very-low income individuals. For low-income individuals, those whose incomes are verifiable and less than $22,000 annually, rent is restricted to no more $471 monthly. The City of San Diego requires that 50% of all units be restricted to $341 for very-low income (VLI) individuals earning less then $16,640 annually. VLI units are available to residents with seniority at the complex. All units have a phone line and cable TV hook ups. All utilities for residents are paid by the Hotel Metro Community Housing Association.

Supportive services on-site at The Metro include a six station computer lab, mini-library, vending machines, laundry room, 24-hour closed circuit security system, food pantry, and part-time support staff to assist with special needs.

The property is professionally managed by Royal Property Management. For additional information, please call (858) 312-8170.
